Main tasks and responsibilities

The R&D Researcher will be a part of a dedicated, multi-national team of researchers spread throughout three continents, tasked with developing robust, innovative technologies to facilitate De Nora’s growth of its electrode businesses in the areas of water electrolysis, fuel cells, CO2 conversion, water treatment, and related industries.

  • Propose and execute R&D projects focused on electrode development for emerging applications with a strong emphasis on materials selection, formulation and construction of electrodes, characterization, application testing, and supporting electrochemical tests on R&D China lab under establish at DNC.
  • Monitor activity of external R&D groups and businesses related to our strategic growth areas to identify new technologies and trends, including working with partners to further our own internal R&D efforts as needed.
  • Technical transfer of QC protocol with colleague in R&D-China.
  • Travel up international at least 2 times (Japan and/or EU) for the training, and travel up inside China to attendance of Academic conferences and workshops several times for Academic conferences and workshops.

 

 

Education and professional experience

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Material Science, or related field with 1-2 years additional post-doc or work experience.
  • B.S. degree with >5 years of experience in the field and 2 papers of electrochemistry or electrochemical engineering will also be considered.
  • Thesis work or work experience should be directly related to electrochemistry / electrochemical engineering, and with a robust understanding of related physical phenomena and experimental techniques used to characterize and develop electrochemical systems.
  • Experience with synthesis of gas diffusion electrodes, catalyst-coated membranes, and membrane electrode assembles for fuel cells, water electrolysis, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated strong experimental skills in the above-mentioned areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an efficient and timely manner.
