Main tasks and responsibilities

The testing lab is critical in researching and developing new products, coating sample evaluation and technical service to customers.

Chemists for labs are responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, conducting testing, analyzing data, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and training laboratory personnel.

  • Propose and execute testing activities focused on electrode evaluation and analysis. Estimate the resources and time required to conduct evaluations and monitor performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Implement and maintain quality control programs, monitor testing accuracy, and address deviations or errors in results.
  • Verify the accuracy of test results, analyze trends, and identify areas for process improvement. Prepare detailed technical reports for clients, management team, or regulatory agencies, ensuring clarity and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise for client proposals or demonstrating lab capabilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Enforce strict safety regulations (e.g., handling hazardous chemicals, wearing PPE), conduct safety training, and manage emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of lab results into product development processes.
  • Participate in internal meetings to provide updates on testing progress and address any challenges or bottlenecks.

 

Education and professional experience

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Material Science
  • Thesis work or work experience should be directly related to electrochemistry / electrochemical engineering, and with a robust understanding of related physical phenomena and experimental techniques used to characterize and develop electrochemical systems.
  • Experience with synthesis of gas diffusion electrodes, catalyst-coated membranes, water electrolysis, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated strong experimental skills in the above-mentioned areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an efficient and timely manner.
