The candidate will support the Researchers in Charge in the execution of electrode lifetesting, which includes samples preparation, characterization, electrochemical testing and data presentation mainly in the water electrolysis (Hydrogen) business.

 

The basic tasks are

  • Perform and monitor accelerated stress tests in support to production and R&D

    • Sample preparation

    • Cell maintenance

    • Programming and verifying the functioning of the tests (current, voltage, level, temperature, etc.)

    • Data reduction and processing using reporting tools (Power BI, Power Query, Excel, Power Point)

  • Apply Engineering Practices for the design of electrochemical lifetests

  • Characterization of the electrodes, either prepared in lab or coming from production

  • Laboratory good practices (5S)

  • Report laboratory data to the Researcher in Charge and to R&D team (data elaboration, data presentation

 

Other areas to cover:

  • Development of new electrochemical methods to project electrode life based on process and market inputs

  • Development of custom reference electrodes for online reading of single electrode potential

  • Automation of test stations

  • Data governance and preparation for the development of Machine Learning algorithms for predictive maintenance and life prediction

  • Preparation and commissioning of new test benches

 

Education and professional experience

  • Secondary School Diploma in Chemistry (perito chimico)

  • BSc (completed or ongoing) in Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry or Material Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Material Science

  • Strong attitude to manual work

  • Ability to execute and organize the assigned tasks with precision, autonomy and proactive attitude

  • Background expertise in electrochemistry and/or inorganic chemistry

  • Digital hard skills like Excel, Power Query/Power BI, programming

  • English comprehension (intermediate)

  • Ability to work in team
