For our R&D Function we are looking for a Patent Attorney, who you will be a part of the Global IP Department and will report directly to the Global IP Director in Milan. 

The Patent Attorney is expected to have proven knowledge, experience and interests relating to the following activities:

 

  • Identify and scout inventions and know-how across the organization
  • Prepare, draft, file, prosecute and defend patent applications and patents world-wide
  • Evaluate patentability & risk/FTO assessments and analyses
  • Provide strategic IP advice and counseling to the business on all IP related matters
  • Support the licensing of IP rights and contribute to the drafting and negotiation of IP related agreements
  • Promote IP awareness within the organization through training initiatives and by defining, implementing, and mantaining IP guidelines and procedures
  • Manage patent portfolio & reporting
  • Carry out additional IP activities, including IP Due Diligence and IP support for R&D projects
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of corporate & business IP Strategies
  • Act as a key interface between IP and other functions (R&D, Sales, Regulatory, Marketing, Legal, etc.)
  • Participate in and contribute to special IP projects

 

Education and professional experience

 

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/industrial chemistry/physics/chemical engineering/material science or equivalent; scientific background on electrochemistry and electrodes particularly preferred; degrees obtained in neighboring technical fields will be also considered
  • 4+ years of experience on IP related matters, with a primary focus on patents
  • Preferably qualified or partially qualified European Patent Attorney or willing to qualify for, and/or qualified Italian Patent Attorney, qualified or willing to qualify for Italian Trademark Attorney particularly preferred
