The Proposal Specialist will be responsible for performing costs evaluation activities and bids preparation in coordination with the Proposal Manager and according to international customer standards and consultant engineering companies.
Following-up with Clients during technical negotiation and with technical dept. during project execution phases, the Proposal will:
- Effectively manage technical & costs evaluation activities in coordination with Line Manager and other departments (engineering and procurement) and sub-suppliers
- Follow-up of all the proposals and keep constantly in contact with engineering/procurement department and sub-suppliers
- Prepare proposals for new projects, refurbishing of existing installations to evaluate site activities to be rendered by the technical service
- Carry out site survey to evaluate the activities before preparing the proposals and evaluate costs
- Prepare the preliminary documentations (P&I Diagram, PFD, Layout, Data Sheet) during the proposal phase with the support by engineering department
- Ensure projects are completed as per requirements, whilst adhering to the companies Q-EHS standards
- Periodically report to the Line Manager progress and status of the proposals under negotiation.
Education and professional experiences:
- Master’s degree in chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- At least 3 years related experience in design, costs estimating, construction or fabrication, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Previous experience in Water Treatment companies or main engineering companies / EPC contractors involved in power, desalination, oil and gas or petrochemical fields
- Good IT tools skills: AutoCAD, MS Office, Internet, ERP’systems experience
- Knowledge of the main international engineering Standards and Codes
- Knowledge of the most widely used Commercial Terms of transaction and delivery terms (Incoterms)
- Capability of autonomously evaluate costs of equipment, material and activities during proposal phase
- Attitude to work in international organization and within multidisciplinary team
- Communication skills are very important along with the ability to coordinate the Parties participating into the project (Client, BU project team, sub-suppliers, etc.)
- Autonomy in proposal management and client follow up
- Availability to travel.
