Are you ready to make a difference in a dynamic and innovative environment? Join us as a Global Operational Data Engineer and help transform the way we collect and use data to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the operational data collection program: Assess the current operational technology (OT) infrastructure in our production plants, working closely with IT and Cybersecurity departments and company production sites;
  • Interact with contractors and service providers for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of each local supervision and data collection system;
  • Building a global operational reporting system: Design and implement a solution to collect and integrate production data (produced parts, batch records, finished product genealogy, etc.), utility usage, waste, and materials from various production sites into a global reporting system to be used as a historical database by all internal customers;
  • Measuring and monitoring the impact of investments: Track the effect of initiatives on operational efficiency, product quality, machine availability, company emissions, energy and water usage, waste generation, and material use and reuse;
  • Supporting master data governance: Perform massive analyses on master data quality and contribute to initiatives to optimize master data management (e.g., reorganization of the SAP Material Master, including the process of creating and maintaining material codes);
  • Providing operational data needed for ESG report preparation: Update briefings for the ESG Steering Committee;
  • Developing knowledge of operational principles and production processes: Support the definition of innovation projects towards lower impact without compromising product quality and worker safety.

 

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
  • Excellent knowledge of English.
  • Good knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) concepts, field communication protocols (e.g., Modbus RTU), and OT vendor solutions (e.g., Siemens, Schneider/AVEVA, Mitsubishi, Rockwell).
  • Ability to execute and organize assigned tasks with precision, autonomy, and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

 

Additional characteristics considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of German, Italian, or Japanese
  • Experience with SAP Material Master and/or PLM/PDM systems
  • Experience with control, automation, SCADA, or PLC systems
  • PLC/HMI programming skills, such as using Siemens TIA portal
  • Experience in managing equipment data and batch production records, as well as energy, utility, and waste data, according to ESG regulations
  • Knowledge or experience with the Purdue model / IEC 62443 standard for cybersecurity for operational technology
