Industrie De Nora is seeking to fill a full-time R&D Scientist position within its Corporate R&D USA division, located at the De Nora Tech, LLC facility in Concord, Ohio, about 30 minutes northeast of downtown Cleveland. Come be a part of a dedicated, global team of researchers tasked with growing De Nora’s portfolio of innovative, sustainable solutions for industrial electrochemical applications e.g. electroplating, electrofinishing, cathodic protections, electrowinning, chlor-alkali, water treatment, water electrolysis, Carbon conversion, circular economy, and other emerging electrochemical technologies. 

Primary Responsibilities:
•    Work within interdisciplinary teams to identify, analyze, develop, and commercialize new coatings, products, and manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve performance of new and existing product lines primarily focused on core De Nora Electrode Technology businesses 
•    Develop next generation laboratory test methods to predict electrode performance and lifetime in the field
•    Manage project team activities and budgets, generate progress reports, and present work to peers and management  
•    Develop external relationships with universities and other research institutes to form collaborative research programs
•    Actively participate in EH&S and 5S related laboratory activities
•    Travel up to 5%, including international

 

Qualifications and Experience:
A successful candidate should be a highly-motivated self-starter, capable of utilizing their scientific background and creativity to find solutions to technical challenges within a dynamic and fast-paced industrial research environment. Ideally, the candidate should have the all the following qualifications:


•    PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field with a focus on electrochemistry and materials development with 0-10 years’ industrial or post-doctoral experience 
•    Knowledge and experience with development of catalytic coatings and electrodes for electrochemical applications 
•    A strong hands-on experimental capability and safety ethic    
•    Robust understanding of standard laboratory process equipment and instrumentation, especially those related electrochemical measurements
•    Ability to work autonomously in an efficient and timely manner 
•    Strong project organization and communication skills needed to work within multi-disciplinary, international teams
